Cumming Hydrothermal Ablation (HTA)

North Pointe OB/GYN Associates provides Hydrothermal Ablation (HTA) for patients in Cumming and the surrounding areas. We are a comprehensive OB/GYN practice located in Cumming and serving the communities north of Atlanta. Our medical staff includes four experienced OB/GYN physicians and four Certified Nurse-Midwives. Our doctors and Certified Nurse-Midwives provide sensitive and compassionate health care for women of all ages.

Atlanta Excessive Menstrual Bleeding Treatment

If you live north of Atlanta and are in need of treatment for excessive menstrual bleeding, call North Pointe OB/GYN Associates. Hydrothermal Ablation (HTA) is a procedure used to treat women with excessive uterine bleeding. Before treating the problem, it is important to first diagnose the reason for excessive uterine bleeding. This may involve the use of a Hysteroscopy test.  If the reason for excessive bleeding cannot be determined using a Hysteroscopy test, your physician may then move on to the HTA procedure. 

During the HTA procedure, the uterine is flushed with heated water (90 degrees) for ten minutes. This destroys the lining of the uterus and causes many patients to experience lighter menstrual bleeding or no bleeding at all.  The procedure itself is safe, but does inherit the general risks related to anesthesia and surgery. The physicians at North Pointe OB/GYN Associates are highly trained and have extensive experience performing HTA procedures. They are available to provide you with additional information regarding HTA and to help you determine if this treatment is right for you.
