Margaret Strickhouser, CNM, MN
Margaret A Strickhouser CNM, MN, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her medical career began as a teenage candy striper in the hospital where she was born. She received her BS in nursing and RN from a joint degree program at St Andrews College in Laurinburg NC and Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
She moved to Atlanta and worked in several hospitals before deciding to pursue her Masters Degree at Emory University with a major in Maternal/Child Health. After two years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse she decided to pursue certification as a nurse-midwife at Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. In 1978 Margaret joined Atlanta's first midwifery practice at Douglas General Hospital in Douglasville, moving to North Fulton Hospital in 1991. In a quarter century of midwifery practice she has delivered more than 3000 healthy babies. She is a 2nd Degree Reiki practitioner.
In her spare time she raises assistance dogs for people with disabilities.
