News - Midwife Patient Letter
July 2008
Dear Midwife Patient:
As many of you know, North Pointe OB/GYN Associates, L.L.C. (“NPOBG”) has been providing gynecologic care at Northside-Forsyth Hospital for years as obstetrical services were not previously available there. We will shortly be providing the majority of our obstetrical services at Northside-Forsyth’s soon to be completed state-of-art Women’s Center. However, we will maintain an office in the North Fulton community and will deliver all current maternity patients at North Fulton, if that has been your expectation.
In medical practices, as with life, the only constant thing is change. As most of you know, Margaret Strickhouser, C.N.M., recently left NPOBG. We have heard concerns from some patients either directly or indirectly over the type of midwifery care that would be available in the practice after Margaret’s departure.
First, be assured that all of the physicians in our practice do embrace a midwifery model and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of care for our patients who choose this approach to their pregnancy. Both Kim Storey and Robin Sherrod are midwives who have worked with Margaret for more than a year. We are confident that they have the skills and compassion required to provide all of our midwifery patients with the support you have come to expect in our practice.
As we move our practice’s main focus to Forsyth in August, we will continue providing the same supportive care to you. In fact, as the sole midwifery practice at the hospital, we understand our responsibility to set a standard that nurtures our patients with a warm, welcoming and safe environment. At the new hospital, we will offer hydrotherapy as a pain management tool for laboring women as well the choice of the more traditional methods.
We are delighted to provide you with an additional option for your maternity experience as well as your general healthcare needs. We encourage you to visit us at the new Cumming office, if that is more convenient for you, and the Women’s Center at Northside-Forsyth Hospital. Know that, regardless of location, you can count on NPOBG to continue our tradition of providing you with physicians, midwives and other clinical staff who want only the very best for you, your child and your family.
Please take time at your next visit to discuss your needs and desires with us.
Sincerely,
|
