Moms-to-be in Forsyth have reason to rejoice and relax. Soon they can enjoy all the benefits of Northside Hospital's nationally-acclaimed Women's Center, an Atlanta legacy, without the harrowing hour-plus drive down Georgia Highway 400. For more than a generation, Northside Hospital has been the first stop for thousands of Metro Atlanta's newborns, including 2,500 born annually to Forsyth County residents. No more. In August 2008, Northside Hospital-Forsyth will open its long-awaited Women's Center, bringing maternity and new born services closer to home for Forsyth County families. The frequent tales of laboring mothers and stressed-out fathers stuck in traffic in route on Georgia 400 will soon be a thing of the past.

"This is great news for expectant moms and families in Forsyth," says Dr. Sean Lambert, a local board-certified ob-gyn and founder of North Pointe Ob-Gyn and Associates. Northside has been the standard in women's obstetrical care for decades, and now they are extending their legacy by extending their sphere of influence northward. We're jumping in with both feet and expanding our practice in Forsyth to meet the growing demand for our services locally." North Point Ob-Gyn has offered services at a satellite office in Cumming for 15 years, but in anticipation of the increased need for their services, they are doubling their space and making their offices at Northside-Forsyth their primary location.

"We have had an integral stake in this community since '93 and have seen Forsyth emerge as one of the fastest growing counties in the country. Through caring and commitment, we're poised to grow to meet the growing needs of women in this area." affirms Dr. Garry E. Siegel of North Point Ob-Gyn. "Our patients will have all the benefits that Northside-Atlanta has offered obstetrical patients for years without the inconvenience posed by the drive into the city. We can accommodate and care for high-risk patient's right in their own community where they can be more accessible to friends and family offering support."

North Pointe Ob/Gyn and Associates has three physicians and four certified midwives on staff to provide expectant patients with comprehensive care throughout their pregnancy. Besides Lambert and Siegel, the group includes Dr. Robert Barrett and Certified Nurse Midwives Margaret Strickhouser, Linda Bell, Elizabeth Robin Sherrod and Kim Storey.
